Local MP hears of city’s bid to be ‘blue’

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray met with the National Marine Aquarium’s Director of Conservation and Communication Paul Cox and the Aquarium’s Managing Director David Gibson to hear about Plymouth’s bid to become a ‘Fish 2 Fork Blue City’.   The Fish2fork Blue City scheme has been created to recognise communities where at least half the restaurants serving four or more species of fish and shellfish have earned a blue fish rating.

Merlin magic for MS sufferers

On Monday Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was pleased to visit the Merlin centre just outside St Austell.  The centre helps support those with Multiple Sclerosis by providing a range of therapies to those affected by this incurable condition.

MP in the trenches at Saltash Museum

On Saturday Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was pleased to officially open the display at Saltash Museum to celebrate the centenary of World War One.  Titled 'It will be over by Christmas' - Saltash goes to war concentrates on how the First World War affected the people of the area, both at home and on the battlefield. 

Enrichment parcels made as part of English Tourism Week

On Friday Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to join volunteers to make enrichment parcels for the monkeys at Wild Futures as part of English Tourism Week where MPs were asked to go ‘back to the floor’ at a business or venue in the industry.

Celebration at Dawlish reopening

Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to join a number of other MPs, the Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLaughlin and the PM David Cameron at the re-opening of the main line to South East Cornwall in Dawlish earlier today.

Diabetes test encouraged

Sheryll Murray MP was tested on Wednesday as part of an International Diabetes Federation campaign to raise awareness of the disease.  Sheryll, who worked for a local doctor’s surgery for over 20 years, was keen to highlight how quick and easy a test is.

Lostwithiel nominated for Samsung Code Club

Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to visit an event being sponsored by Samsung in Parliament to hear about Code Club which is a national network of over 1,300 volunteer led after school computer coding clubs teaching how programs work.  At the event Sheryll nominated Lostwithiel to become a code club and to receive new computer equipment from Samsung.
