Local MP Sheryll Murray was Pleased to attend the Pensilva Women’s Institute Horticultural Show at the Millenium House in Pensilva and award the prizes. The strongly contested competition featured over 80 classes for all age groups.
Firstly Sheryll opened the show and toured the exhibits awarding the ‘Opener’s Award’ to Mrs M. Woodhouse for some Honeysuckle made from sugar.
Sheryll then joined everyone for a cup of tea before awarding the many prizes and drawing the raffle.
Sheryll said, “It was fantastic to visit the Pensilva show and see the very high standard on offer. We have so many very talented people in South East Cornwall and I would like to thank them all for taking part. I would like to congratulate all the winners against some very tough competition.
“The WI is a fantastic organisation which does so much for their respective communities. I would in particular like to thank them and hope that they have raised sufficient funds from the event to continue their good works.”
Thanks were also given by the WI who said, “The President and Committee of Pensilva Women’s Institute wish to thank all who have assisted in any way, especially the Opener, Judges, Exhibitors, Stewards, WI Volunteers, Staff at Millennium House, The Editor of the Parish Pump – also Pensilva Stores and others for displaying posters.”
