Last Thursday local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to open another new facility at the Siblyback Watersport Adventure Centre. The brand new Cable water-skiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding system was demonstrated expertly before the ribbon was cut in what is one of the most scenic areas just north of Liskeard.
Sheryll, who cut the ribbon with South West Lakes Chairman Keith Bungay, tried her hand at working the cable system and vowed to return to have a go on a wakeboard herself.
Following the event Sheryll said, “Siblyback is a fantastic success story which gives the opportunity to so many people to try sports they otherwise couldn’t. I would like to thank the team for having the vision and drive to create such a varied and exciting range of activities.”
Sheryll agreed to press the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to provide Siblyback with the next level of funding in order to add to the facilities which local people and tourists enjoy.
