Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to meet with 16 and 17 year olds who were undertaking National Citizen Service which lets them take part in social action projects and build skills for work and life. Sheryll met them at Liskeard School and Community College where she faced a number of questions.
National Citizen Service brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication. Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.
Following the presentation Sheryll said, “I am so pleased that this Conservative led Government scheme is helping so many young people and would like to congratulate them on their efforts. I know it will be a great addition to their CV. I was delighted to take part in a question and answer session and I am looking forward to seeing the ‘selfies’ we took on social media.”
