Talons officially opened
Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to open a bird of prey centre, Talons, which offers hands on owl experiences and falconry courses at Hendra Farm near Pelynt in her South East Cornwall constituency.
Hendra Farm is set amongst the stunning countryside of South East Cornwall, and is home to an eclectic mix of much loved farm animals and the awe inspiring birds of Talons, Owl and Falconry centre. The farm is run by Senara and David Collings, whose high standards of animal welfare and commitment to their lifestyle, is their overriding passion.
Senera explained, “Talons is a brand new venture for Hendra Farm. We would like to give you the chance to share in our passion for owls and other birds of prey, and to meet some of our other animals on the farm ( in response to numerous requests!), so we are opening to the public at Whitsun 2015 for very unique Falconry experience days in Cornwall. You will be able to get up close and personal with lots of different breeds of bird – handle and feed them, learn about them, watch them fly in beautiful surroundings, and have a go yourself!!”
Following her visit Sheryll said, “Talons is just one of the fantastic facilities at Hendra Farm. As well as the wide range of birds it was also good to visit the new reptile corner with snakes large and small and Nessie the bearded dragon. It was also good to see such a large mix of animals from the traditional sheep, pigs, horses and chickens to the more unusual like Alpacas and Rheas.
“I would like to wish Senara, David and the team the very best with their new venture and thank them for the opportunity to meet so many fantastic animals.”
