It is with great sadness that we report an incident at sea on Neil Murray’s boat ‘Our Boy Andrew’.
The fishing vessel was due to return to Looe harbour at 7pm last night following a day out at sea. Following a search by local fishermen and emergency services the boat was recovered and brought back to Fowey Harbour. Until formal identification is carried out we cannot confirm the body on board is Neil but unfortunately there seems to be little doubt.
In a statement Sheryll Murray said, “Neil was dearly loved by his many family and friends and will be greatly missed. He has died doing what he loved. I would like to thank in particular the emergency services and all the local fishermen who took part in the search.
Neil (aged 57) has two grown up children Andrew and Sally. Andrew is a marine electronics engineer and Sally is a serving officer in the Royal Navy.
We ask that at this time you respect Sheryll and her family’s privacy at this difficult time and contact Sheryll’s press officer for any further information. (below)
