Sheryll Murray MP joined millions of other consumers on Saturday to shop with a local small business to encourage people to shop local and support these important businesses in her constituency. Sheryll is a customer of Topcuts in Liskeard and was pleased to visit this local salon on Small Business Saturday to highlight their important contribution.
After her visit to Topcuts Sheryll said, “Brenda has run her small business here for many years and has created employment for many people over those years. Topcuts is a prime example of a small business that contributes to the economy of the whole town centre. Many people who come to get their Hair, Nail or Beauty treatment browse the shops in the town Centre afterwards.”
In support of Small Business Saturday the Prime Minister, David Cameron, said, “There are nearly five million small businesses in the UK; they are the lifeblood of the economy, employing millions of people. The Conservative Party recognises the huge importance of small businesses to the UK economy – that’s why we’re cutting up to £2,000 off National Insurance for every business through the Employment Allowance. Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to support your local shops and community”
