Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, has welcomed the news that the PURE Polperro Community Group has been awarded £48,122 and Rame Peninsula £38,520 from the Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF) which is part of the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
The money has been made available to finance projects that increase understanding and uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and help to make energy supply secure and affordable for everyone in your community.
In a statement Sheryll Murray MP said, “This is a positive result for both the Rame Peninsula and the Pure Polperro Community Group. Anything that results in identifying energy efficiency measures and has the potential to save households money in these economic times is a real positive move. I am really pleased to see my Conservative led Coalition Government supporting community project such as this.”
Sheryll attended Big Energy Week in Parliament to promote the fact that you can get practical advice on cutting your fuel bills and help to see if you are getting all of the financial support you are entitled to. You can pick up a leaflet with tips and advice on cutting your fuel bills at your local Citizens Advice Bureau. Also a new website – www.bigenergyweek.org.uk - is full of tips on how to cut your energy bills.
Sheryll concluded, “Many constituents have discussed their concerns over their fuel bills and I want to insure that they have the best advice to keep bills down during this difficult economic time.”
