Local South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to attend a business breakfast on Friday to hear about the launch of the second round of Cornwall Together. The group trying to bulk buy electricity, gas and heating oil to try to get a better price for local consumers.
Sheryll said, “I was the only Cornish MP to meet the Cornwall Together Team at the Eden Project in the run up to the second phase of their project. You can still sign up to this scheme which is likely to save you money on your energy bills. They can be contacted via their website at www.cornwalltogether.com or you can contact my office.”
The project was originally conceived by the Eden Project and it was pioneered with partners including Cornwall Council and the NHS. Companies like St Austell Brewery are also supporting the scheme and are holding events to promote the initiatives at some of their pubs.
Sheryll added, “Cornish homes spend around £1.2bn on energy each year with the average bill now over £1,200. I would encourage all to sign up and at least see what kind of offer comes through.”
