Recently, Sheryll Murray MP joined neighbouring MP Oliver Colvile to celebrate the achievements of the great Antarctic explorer, Robert Falcon Scott at the rededication ceremony of the national Scott Memorial in Plymouth.
During her visit Sheryll met the Antarctic Adventurers who are the only re-enactment group in the world which specialises in the Historic Period of Polar Exploration. They are kitted out in equipment which would have been used at the time including clothing, sledge and tents to create as realistic depiction as possible.
Commenting after the event Sheryll said, “I do hope the re-enactors were not too warm in their Antarctic gear. It was very educational and I would like to thank them for their attention to detail. They are a real salute to the history and accomplishments of the time.”
