South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to meet with pupils from St Stephens Primary School in Saltash to hear about their contribution to Parliament’s Flag Project.
As part of Parliament's 2015 anniversary programme to mark 750 years since the Montfort parliament, the 2015 Flag Project introduces the story of Simon de Montfort’s parliament to key stage 2 students (age 7-11). Schools are invited to design a flag to represent their local area or community and add it to a digital exhibition to build a shared picture of the UK for 2015 created by young people.
Following her meeting Sheryll said, “I would like to thank the pupils of St Stephens School for their guided tour and for taking part in the flag project. What could be more Cornish than their mix of a Pasty of the flag of St Piran on their flag. I am pleased they have taken on this project and hope they have learnt from it.”
