Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was out selling poppies for the Royal British Legion as she has done for many, many years.
The Royal British Legion, which this year is celebrating its 90th year, is committed to the welfare, interests and memory of the Service family – those who have made a unique commitment to their country and deserve to be rewarded for that with long term care. The Legion provides welfare services, campaigns on a range of issues affecting Service people, is custodian of Remembrance, runs the annual Poppy Appeal and is one of the UK’s largest membership organisations.
Sheryll, whose own daughter serves as an officer in the Royal Navy, said, “I am very aware of the fantastic work the legion does for our former and current service personnel and I salute them for it. I try to do my bit at this time of year to help them raise the much needed money they need to carry out their work. I would like to thank all those who are involved in the Legion for the time they give to such a worthy cause.”
