Sheryll Murray, Member of Parliament for South East Cornwall, was pleased to present the awards to artistic pupils following a competition held at Hillfort Primary School in Liskeard organised by the National Union (NFU).
The winners; James, Maisy, Harriet, Luca and overall winner Katie where given their awards in front of the whole school at an assembly. Jan Byrne from the NFU was also present. The many entrants were to be ‘junk’ models or paintings depicting ‘Springtime on the Farm’.
Overall winner Katie won a trip to Wild Futures, Looe’s Monkey Sanctuary, which Sheryll has recently been working with to outlaw the keeping of primates as pets.
Following the awards Sheryll commented, “The high standard of entrants was amazing and I congratulate all the pupils who took part, on their endeavours. I would especially like to congratulate all the winners and especially Katie for her sheep and hope she has a wonderful visit to the monkey sanctuary.”
