On Saturday 18th February local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to open the varied and interesting courses at the Orchard Studios in Gunnislake. The courses and workshops of different durations cover art, crafts, creative writing, cookery, family fun, photography, film, needlecraft and textiles.
At the event Sheryll made had a go at the guitar, made a chocolate rose and listened to poetry. She also was able to discuss some of the other projects including decopatch paper models, glass artwork and needlecraft. Sheryll also talked to Stuart Bailey about his photography and film classes even looking at different, now historic, super 8 movie cameras.
After the event Sheryll said, “This is a fantastic facility and Gunnislake is really lucky to have such an interesting and varied facility. I found it really interesting and took part in some of the taster activities I just normally would not be able to in my day to day life. I would really like to thank Jay Hooper for making this happen. Jay, by taking the step from local government to create this service, has produced something very special for the community.”
