Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to visit Morley Tamblyn Lodge in Liskeard to see their newly decorated sensory room and the work which had been undertaken on the Zen Garden.
Morley Tamblyn Lodge is a centre for adults with a wide range of learning disabilities. The Sensory Room allows clients to enhance their senses through special lighting, music, and objects. The idea for a Zen Garden came after the carers noted the reaction of their clients at a visit to the The Japanese Garden & Bonsai Nursery at St Mawgan just outside Newquay. They described the positive response to the garden and were keen to replicate this using an unused area at Morley Tamblyn Lodge.
Following her visit Sheryll said, “I was delighted to visit Morley Tamblyn Lodge on Friday and see the fantastic refurbishment that has taken place. The Sensory Room in particular is a stunning place and the Zen Garden will be wonderful once complete. I heard how local firm Bond Timber has been very helpful in providing some of the materials for this garden. There is still some items that they would like to purchase and I know the friends of Morley Tamblyn would be very grateful to receive donations to purchase items for this garden.”
