Local MP Sheryll Murray will be walking a 13 mile circular night walk in aid of the Fishermen’s Mission with her partner Bob, through the wild and magical Dartmoor National Park.
The challenge takes places at 9:00 pm on Saturday 18th July, 2015 from Princetown Primary School on Dartmoor. The walk will be across open moorland and will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. This event will be supervised on the night by the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Plymouth team.
Sheryll and Bob are doing this walk to raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission in order that the Mission can continue to provide emergency and welfare assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year wherever it is needed. This Charity supports active and retired fishermen (and their families) with practical, financial and pastoral help.

In a statement Sheryll said, “The Mission helped me massively when I lost my husband Neil aboard his fishing boat. Whilst I did not receive financial help many do and I know more than most the hard work they undertake to help people.
“I was very pleased when Neil’s brother Ian recently became a Superintendent to the Mission and I was keen that we did our bit to help as well. I do hope people will consider sponsoring me.”
