Sheryll Murray MP is delighted to back the three projects in her South East Cornwall constituency which are part of the ‘Transform Your Patch’ national regeneration schemes that will deliver up to 165 improved outdoor spaces for communities throughout the UK in 2012 and early 2013.
‘Transform Your Patch’ is a national initiative created by Britvic Soft Drinks in partnership with PepsiCo, with on the ground support delivered by the environmental regeneration charity Groundwork. This national programme aims to enhance the lives of thousands of people across the UK by giving a new lease of life to playgrounds, parks and picnic areas, five-a-side football pitches and skate parks. Each patch of ground being regenerated has been identified by Groundwork in conjunction with the communities involved, to ensure that they meet real local needs.
‘Transform Your Patch’ want individuals, communities, clubs and organisations to get behind the initiative by championing projects in their local areas, voting for them to receive additional funding, to make them even bigger and better, and even helping with the hands-on renovation.
After her tour of the sites involved Sheryll said, “It was really good to visit these three projects across the constituency and would like to thank the local people for all their hard work in getting behind these fantastic projects. I would encourage all local residents to get behind these projects by visiting the website and supporting these fantastic local initiatives at www.transformyourpatch.com”
