Local MP Sheryll Murray joined calls for a multi-purpose skateboard, BMX, scooter and rollerblading park in Looe following a meeting with the organisers of an around 500 signature petition on Saturday.
Following the meeting Sheryll has written to the Council asking for an update. Sheryll said, “I support the provision of the park which would certainly benefit the younger community of Looe. There are very little amenities for the youth and I am calling on the Council to consider this campaign.”
Following the meeting the Skate Park in Looe Facebook page posted, “Met with Sheryll Murray yesterday and she's offered her full endorsement of the project, she gave us a list of fundraisers to contact and has written a letter showing her support! Thank you! So we have the local Councillors and the MP of our constituency supporting this project, 540 people pledging their support, and some local businesses willing to offer us donations and equipment. If that's not enough support then what is?”
