Local MP Sheryll Murray described as “excellent” the Liskeard Model Society annual model exhibition at Liskeard Community School. The annual exhibition, which is the largest in the area, included models from over 150 makers showing miniature steam engines, model railways, model engineering, aircraft, agricultural and transport, boats and automata. Military subjects include miniature figures, helicopters, armour and dioramas.
In a statement she said, “The standard and variety of models on show was first class and ranged from Steam engines through to a model of a German U boat which never entered service. Indeed I had a little history lesson whilst touring the Exhibition.
“It was also good to meet up with Roger from my own village who is a member of the Looe Model Club as well as my dear fisherman friend Jo Bussel. I was also delighted to hear how model making had helped one gentleman who had suffered a stroke whilst still a young man, with his recovery. It was certainly an excellent event and I am amazed at the skill and craftsmanship that has gone into making these beautiful working models.”
