On Saturday local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to launch a year of events marking 150 years since Looe Lifeboats was established in 1866.
At the event Sheryll was joined by many of the lifeboats crew. Sheryll also unveiled a new fun camera which also educates about sea safety.
Through the year there will be a range of displays, including storyboards and crew kit through the ages in the crew room and boathouse. Details of all events, including the 2016 events calendar, will be shown on the Looe Lifeboats Facebook pages, as well as the Looe Lifeboats website, www.looelifeboats.co.uk
Following the launch Sheryll said, “It was a different type of launch at the Looe Lifeboat Station on Saturday. It gave me great pleasure to formally kick off their 150th year celebrations. It also gave me the opportunity to thank them for all they have done for me and do for so many others.”
