Local MP Sheryll Murray visited the LaFarge Tarmac depot on Friday following an invitation from one of their Directors who she met in Parliament. The purpose of the visit was to find out more about the local operation and how the business was doing.
During her visit Sheryll met with a number of people from Lafarge Tarmac who explained that business was on the up and that demand for their products had increased. Sheryll also undertook a tour of the Moorswater Depot and was shown some of the safety features that they have on their trucks.
Following her visit Sheryll said, “I would like to thank LaFarge Tarmac for their kind hospitality and for taking so much time out of their day to show me their business. I am pleased that demand for their products is on the up.
“I was particularly impressed by the array of safety features on their trucks in particular the aides to visibility and the safety features in the cab itself. An example of this would be the breathalyzer that drivers must use in the cab before the engine will start.”
