Sheryll Murray MP took time out from her busy weekend schedule to meet with Liskeard Community Hospital’s Friends Group. The Group, which is completely voluntary, raises money for equipment for the hospital.
The group which spent over £30,000 on equipment to assist the treatment of patients last year is currently trying to raise £6,000 for a portable Digital Diagnostic Ultrasound Mindray Machine which aids diagnosis and treatment for physiotherapy treatment.
To raise funds the group runs a Coffee Shop and sells books in the hospital with all the proceeds going towards equipment. Anyone wishing to make donations of cash or books can do so to the group to Liskeard Community Hospital League of Friends, Clemo Road Liskeard, Cornwall PL14 3XD. The group is also looking for volunteers to assist with their work.
Following her visit Sheryll commented, “I am so pleased to see the League of Friends working so actively to ensure vital equipment is available locally which often saves sick people the long and difficult trip to Derriford. They told me that they are always grateful for help and donations and all the money they raise is spent to benefit our local hospital.”
