Local MP Sheryll Murray joined fellow South West MPs from across the political divide to deliver a ‘South West Growth Charter’ to Downing Street on Tuesday.
The document entitled ‘A new Partnership for the South West’ outlines the following commitments:
- to collaborate for growth
- to invest in a self-sustaining South West
- to invest in innovation, industry and infrastructure
- to invest in productive people and retain talent within our region
- to invest in our environment and share the benefits of growth
The document goes on to ask the government:
- a new Government partnership with the South West
- investment in digital connectivity
- investment in energy connectivity
- investment in transport connectivity
Following the presentation Sheryll said, “I am pleased that MPs from across the South West are fighting our corner and I am proud to be one of them. We need growth in South East Cornwall and that will come by working in a combined way across the whole region.”
