Local MP Sheryll Murray was, on Sunday, pleased to attend the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen’s Blessing of the Fleet service in Newlyn saying, “I was honoured to be asked to read the Pilot Psalm as part of the service.” At the event she was pleased to support the Mission by buying a single which has been brought out to help the charity.
At the event Sheryll met with Hannah Pascoe, who is from Newlyn and a fishing family, who is one of the soloists on the single. Sheryll said, “It was a pleasure to meet Hannah Pascoe from the Fishwives Choir and I would like to congratulate them on their first CD ‘When The Boat Comes In/Eternal Father’. I would also like to pay tribute to fisherman’s widow Jane Dolby who had the initial idea.”
Sheryll went on to explain, “The Mission do so much work supporting local fishing families who have suffered the loss of a loved one, but they are also there to support retired fishermen and working fishermen who have for many reasons needed support.”
