Recently local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to open the expanded area of Menheniot and Looe Cricket ground. Formerly two clubs, they joined two years ago and have now created new facilities at the Club which is based in Menheniot. The new part of the ground includes training areas and a new play and seating section for families to enjoy whilst others play cricket.
Following the event Sheryll said, “It is a pleasure to follow former MP Sir Robert Hicks who opened the Pavillion 14 years ago in opening new facilities at the Cricket Club. In this Olympic year it is fantastic to see so many people and organisations put in so much effort into what is a very traditional sport. I hope that this new area will encourage many more young people to take up the game and that many families can enjoy the new play and seating area.”
