Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to join Looe Librarian Gilliane Sanders on Saturday to promote the services on available to the public. Sheryll joined the Library to support what she described as an “important service”.
Sheryll explained, “Before starting my regular Looe Surgery at the Looe One Stop Shop, I joined the Library which is in the same building. You can use the Cornwall Council Library Card at any of the South East Cornwall Libraries. By joining a Library, it is still possible for people of all ages to enjoy books free of charge. I really hope that our local Libraries remain open because they provide a diverse range of services, which are of particular use to many especially in the present economic times.”
The Looe Library, which is open Tuesday to Saturday, boasts six computers with fast broadband Internet connections, free WiFi to members, photocopying, scanning, newspapers and information on many local services. The Library also supports computer classes, politician’s & police advice surgeries, knitting club, reader’s group and there is also a Baby Bounce & Rhyme where youngsters are welcome to join in singing, rhymes and music.
Sheryll said, “The Library is such an important service and it comes with free membership to everyone living, working or studying in Cornwall for a month or more. The local library service is a fantastic and varied service that should be used. I have written to the Council for better signage and for better marketing so that our libraries can go from strength to strength.”
