Sheryll Murray MP today welcomed the news that Saltash Gateway Community Interest Company would be setting up a Community Transport System in those PL12 areas with poor transport links, vulnerable persons, jobless, over 65s, long term sick, young & deprived. Initially this will use a 16 seater minibus with 300 kg wheelchair lift.
This is following the project winning an award as part of the Natwest Community Force as part of their commitment to the communities which the bank serves. The bank, through a system of voting, allows local communities to campaign and raise the public awareness of their project.
In a statement Sheryll Murray said, “I welcome this extra money for the community in Saltash to help those with difficulty getting about. This is exactly the type of project that can succeed when the private sector get together with local people to provide what hopefully will be an excellent additional service for those in need.”
