Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to welcome representatives of the Community Health Around Torpoint (CHAT) to Parliament as part Lloyds TSB Foundation event celebrating the work of charities across England and Wales.
The Foundation describes itself as “The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales is one of the UK’s leading independent grant-making trusts. We provide funding for core costs to registered charities who help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in communities throughout England and Wales. We fund small and medium local, regional and national charities working at the heart of communities to tackle disadvantage and help empower people on the margins of our society. Our funding is always driven by communities' needs and we have a strong local knowledge and presence across England and Wales.”
CHAT’s mission statement is “To improve the health, (in its widest sense), of the Torpoint and Rame Peninsula inhabitants by enabling the community to be proactive and self-motivating in producing local solutions to local problems.”
Following the event Sheryll commented, “It was fantastic to meet constituents Lyn Murray and Jenny Rosson at this prestigious event. I would like to thank all those who work for this and many other charities across South East Cornwall who make such a difference to so many people’s lives. It is good to see this work appreciated in this way.”
