Appreciation in Parliament for storm workers

Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, joined Minister Rt Hon Mike Penning MP to thank Western Power Distribution workers for going out in all weathers to try to restore power to homes when it was lost during the Winter storms.

Local MP Supports New Road Safety Campaign

Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, has shown her support for The Red Thumb Campaign through meeting with firefighters from Saltash Fire Station at an open day on Saturday. The road safety campaign aims to raise awareness of the potentially fatal risks of driving distractions, targeting people who use their mobile phones when driving. My Red Thumb encourages drivers to paint their thumb nails red, as a reminder not to text or talk on the phone when in the driving seat.

Walker Jonny welcomed to Parliament

Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, has met with fundraising son and father team, Jonny and Andy Burnard, who carry out walks for charity, in Parliament this week. Their next sponsored walk, Walk With Pride, which involves walking from Saltash to Land’s End takes place next month. 

Armed Forces Day a great tribute to our services

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to attend Armed Forces Day in Plymouth Hoe on Saturday paying tribute to our services.  Thousands of people across the UK celebrated the men and women of the Armed Forces community, past and present, at hundreds of events to mark the sixth annual Armed Forces Day.

Albaston Fete a great success

Local MP Sheryll Murray was honoured to be asked to officially open the Albaston Fete in her role as their local MP.  The Fete included a large amount of both trade and charity stalls and took place at the village’s Millennium Green.
