Local MP Sheryll Murray has praised the organisers of Saturday’s Cornwall Armed Forces Day held in Torpoint saying the event as “A Great Success”.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Sheryll attended the opening ceremony and toured the many displays.
Following the event Sheryll said, “I would really like to thank all those involved in organising an event which really was a great success. It was a real salute to our armed forces.
“There were so many fantastic stories. I met one man from the Golden Arrow Living history group. They portray the 13th Infantry Regiment B company which was a part of the 8th Infantry Division who were more commonly known as the Monuments Men, the Unit tasked to retrieve stolen Nazi art and treasures in the second world war. He was raising money for the Little Hearts Matter charity after they had helped his daughter.”
