Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, chose the debate on the Strategic Defence and Security Review, on which so many South East Cornwall jobs depend, to make her maiden speech on Monday.
In her speech Sheryll paid tribute to her predecessors including recently retired MP Colin Breed. She introduced her constituency to members of the house making a point of welcoming them to holiday there.
Her substantive contribution to the debate was to explain the importance of HMS Raleigh and Devonport dockyards to the local economy and implored the government to use the wealth of expertise available in the area.
