Fishwives Choir – ‘a great support to the Mission’

Local MP Sheryll Murray was, on Sunday, pleased to attend the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen’s Blessing of the Fleet service in Newlyn saying, “I was honoured to be asked to read the Pilot Psalm as part of the service.”  At the event she was pleased to support the Mission by buying a single which has been brought out to help the charity.

Rubbish highlighted at art show

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to attend the opening of Rame Peninsula Beach Care’s summer exhibition of art made from plastic waste retrieved from our local beaches over the past six months at Kingsand Community Hall.

New ‘Clean Room’ for honey producers at Tamar Grow Local

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to officially open a new room to allow local people, who keep bees, to help get their goods to market.  Sheryll also took the time to take a tour of some of the sites as part of the co-operative with manager Simon Pollard.

Sherylll welcomes action from Minister in the light of new PIB evidence

Sheryll Murray MP has welcomed the move by Conservative Shipping Minister Stephen Hammond to approach the International Maritime Organisation to discuss the chemically distinct form of PIB which resulted in the death of hundreds of seabirds earlier this year off the coast of South East Cornwall. 

Wild Woods project – a great success

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to visit the Wild Woods project in Lostwithiel.  The project, run by Richard Brown, helps youngsters succeed. 

Post Offices across South East Cornwall modernised

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to officially reopen two Post Offices in the East of her constituency in August following renovations to ‘modernise the network’.  There will also be longer opening hours so residents can find it easier to access services.

Call for human beings to answer telephones

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to join support group ‘Hear We Go’ for people with hearing difficulties in South East Cornwall.  Sheryll met with the group to discuss with them issues which they faced.

International Jamboree on our doorstep

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to join local South East Cornwall Scouts at their International Jamboree at Pencarrow House near Bodmin.  As well as having Scouts from Sheyll’s own village of Millbrook there were Scouts from as far afield as Japan.

Win for Liskeard girls over US team

Local MP Sheryll Murray was joined by her colleague Caroline Nokes MP to cheer on Liskeard Girls Football Club as they took on a team from the South Shore area of Massachusetts.  Sheryll, who is President of the Liskeard Team, was pleased to see the team win 2-1 at the match in Liskeard.
