Sheryll Murray MP was delighted to catch up with old friends from her former workplace when she visited the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Torpoint with Community Health Around Torpoint (CHAT) on Friday morning to mark World Mental Health Day.
Hosted by the Friends of the Antony Road Surgery this coffee morning raised awareness of mental health issues and offered people the chance to talk to representatives of local mental health services and ask questions and express their opinions.
There was information available about the Patient Participation Group for both the Antony Road and Cawsand Surgeries which is made of practice staff and patients that are representative of the practice population.
The Patient Participation Group would like to include a representative from the Rame area and anyone interested is invited to ring 01752 812029 to find out more. The main aim of the Patient Participation Group is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided and, over time, commissioned by the practice.
Using the Patient Participation Group, GP practices are encouraged to promote the proactive engagement of patients and to seek views from practice patients through the use of local practice surveys. Sheryll was also delighted to see the plans for the new Surgery on display and information available for people who suffer from hearing loss.
