South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to join representatives from Tesco who donated equipment to local schools following their voucher scheme.
Since 1992 Tesco has given hundreds of thousands of pieces of equipment to schools across the country and last year alone gave over 440,000 pieces of useful equipment worth £9.3m to schools and clubs around the country.
Sheryll said, “In these difficult economic times it is good to see the private sector help bring those extra pieces of equipment into our schools. The Tesco ‘Schools and Clubs Scheme’ is a brilliant initiative providing much needed extra equipment for our local schools.
“I am delighted that the Primary Schools of St Dominick, St Mellion, Harrowbarrow and Gunnislake were able to benefit from the scheme and would like to thank Tesco at Callington for working so hard to benefit the local community.”
