Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to attend a meeting with the Lloyds Bank Foundation in Parliament following their grant of £20,000 to the Greenbank Community Church to help provide a range of community support projects in Liskeard and East Cornwall. It needed funding for a project worker to support adults with learning disabilities to reduce their isolation, learn skills and build relationships.
The Lloyds Bank Foundation describes their grants as, “Our new grant programmes launched from April 2014 – Invest, Enable and Enhance –will offer short and long term grants. Support will be adapted to the needs of small and medium sized charities (income between £25,000 and £1 million) that are committed to delivering work which breaks or prevents cycles of disadvantage. We will fund, champion and help to build the capacity of these organisations. As a relationship driven funder we will share and learn from what we fund locally and recognise that small and medium charities need support for what they do – their core work and how they operate.”
Sheryll met with a number of people from the Foundation and in particular the Grant Manager for the South West, Trevor Smale. Following her meeting Sheryll said, “I would like to thank the Lloyds Bank Foundation for their generous contribution to the Greenbank Community Church which will assist them in their work.
“I would encourage any organisation who feel they qualify for a grant to get in touch with the Lloyds Bank Foundation and to make an application. More can be found on their website at lloydsbankfoundation.org.uk”
