Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to join chefs Jacques Marchal and Jerome Leopold at the Kingsmill Community Hall on Saturday to see a demonstration at a fundraising event for the Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.
The event was a cookery demonstration showing techniques for preparing and cooking fish. The Fishermen’s Mission is the only fishermen’s charity that provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care. They help all fishermen, active or retired, and their families.
Following the event Sheryll said, “I would like to thank Chef’s Jacques and Jerome for their lively and enlightening talk about the preparation of fish. I was pleased that they were able to show us using less used fish including Gurnard, Whiting and Dab. These are locally caught fish and can make an excellent meal as was aptly demonstrated by the two chefs.
“I was also very pleased that so much was raised for the Fishermen’s Mission and would like to thank all those involved for a most enjoyable and informative night.”
