Local MP Sheryll Murray met with Quentin Wilson to sign the Fair Fuel UK pledge calling for a cut in fuel duty at the budget on the 20th March 2013.
Sheryll explained, "I know how high fuel prices hit hard working families in my constituency. Due to often sparse public transport many constituents have no choice but to use their own transport. People are starting to make difficult decisions over which journeys they make and whilst many trips are essential it is the visiting family, sports and other interests which are being most affected.
"It is well known that high fuel prices cause inflation. This is especially so for Cornwall. We get hit by prices at the shops as the goods cost more to transport and also we find it more expensive to get the produce we make to market threatening jobs in the area.
"I see lower fuel prices as important to residents and the local economy and that is why I am urging George Osborne to do all he can on fuel prices."
