Sheryll Murray was delighted to support the Fundraising Raffle and event organised by Paul Bendelow, from St Cleer, last Friday. Paul and his wife Natalie wanted to do something to raise funds for MacMillian Cancer Care after a relative was diagnosed with a brain tumour. With over 100 prizes donated from local business the sum raised had already reached over £1000 before the event began.
The main event of the evening was the drawing of the raffle but there were many other children’s activities throughout the evening including colouring competition. MacMillian Cancer Care had supplied balloons which provided superb entertainment for the many children present.
Sheryll said after the event, "It is always a shock when someone close receives a horrible diagnosis and I would like to congratulate Paul, Natalie, their family and friends who spent so many long hours organising this event. I applaud their courage. What I found so heartening is the way in which the event was organised to include all family members and the children were very much part of the evening. The event was extremely well attended and is a great example of the community spirit in and around St Cleer. Very well done everyone, I am proud to be your MP".
