Sheryll Murray MP is determined to use the Government’s “Business is Great” campaign and small business Saturday on the 7th December to encourage jobs and trade in South East Cornwall.
The ‘Business is GREAT Britain’ campaign aims to build confidence amongst small businesses by showcasing inspirational examples of similar sized businesses. It encourages businesses to plan, hire and export as drivers to future business success. The campaign initially has three key strands: encouraging small businesses to take a step back from the day-to-day and consider the full potential of their businesses, and plan for long term growth; to encourage businesses to take on new talent and fresh ideas to drive business growth; and to encourage businesses to consider new, foreign markets for their goods and services.
Sheryll met with Matt Hancock MP, the newly appointed Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise, to discuss how the campaign can benefit businesses in South East Cornwall. Following the meeting Sheryll said, “I am keen that we look all over the country at best practice so that Cornwall can benefit from this knowledge. I am keen to see business in Cornwall grow to create new wealth and jobs. I am determined to work hard to ensure that South East Cornwall can be all it can be.”
