Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to try the latest addition to the many activities at the Siblyback Lake Outdoor and Active Centre, the Segway Trail. Siblyback offers a wide range of activities including rowing boat hire, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, rainbow trout fishing, wakeboarding, walking, bird watching, archery, cycle hire, camping, high ropes and even a cafe.
A Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered electric vehicle which is controlled by shifting weight on a platform and by using handlebars.
Sheryll undertook the basic training that is standard to all courses before taking a trip round Siblyback Lake.
Following her visit Sheryll said, “The Segway is great fun and I certainly enjoyed what was a new experience for me. It took a little time to get used to the balance but that is what the training is for and I certainly would not call it difficult. After that it was great fun.
“Siblyback is a great local resource for both locals and tourists and I certainly would recommend people coming up to the lake to see what is available for them.”
