Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to officially reopen two Post Offices in the East of her constituency in August following renovations to ‘modernise the network’. There will also be longer opening hours so residents can find it easier to access services.
The Torpoint Post Office has extended its hours at the weekend with an extra 5 hours opening in total. They also have an improved retail area for customers.
The Saltash Post Office is now open Sundays with the total hours of operation now more than doubled. The Post office offers the full range of services.
Following the openings Sheryll said, “I’m delighted to officially open the new look Post Offices. The team are to be congratulated on their work to develop the branches which will make a real difference for local residents and small business customers. I wish them continued success.”
Post Office Regional Manager, Laura Tarling, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this area and we are confident that this modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
She added: “The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
