Local MP Sheryll Murray took time out from her busy Parliamentary schedule to meet her constituent, David Pond, who is the Chief Executive of Great Britain’s wheelchair rugby and many other people involved in the Paralympic games at a reception in Parliament sponsored by EDF.
Sheryll met with former weightlifter John Amos who has coached the British team and is now the Chairman of IPC Powerlifting. She also met Paralympic Rower Tom Aggar who won gold in the Beijing 2008 competition.
After the event Sheryll said, “These Paralympians are a great inspiration to so many disabled and able-bodied people alike. They have often overcome great adversity in their lives and truly are real motivators in their sport. I am looking forward to seeing the lit torch coming through Cornwall on Saturday and of course the games themselves.”
