Sheryll Murray MP was delighted to award graduates of the Motiv-8 South West course at the Eliot House Hotel in Liskeard today.
The graduates gave a short presentation before Sheryll awarded them with their certificates. The group have been on a 15 day Activate Your Future programme to help prepare people for the work environment. During their course they learnt valuable employability and life skills as well as first aid.
Following the awards Sheryll said, “It’s been a privilege to be involved in this event. The futures of all the young people here looks bright. Since 2010 youth unemployment in South East Cornwall has more than halved and it’s thanks to courses like this, that have helped us to achieve that. I wish them all the best of luck for the future.”
Josh, a graduate of the course said, “I used to have a negative attitude but this course has helped me to change that to a positive one. I’d really like to find a job and a career as a sports coach.”
Kieron Yeoman, Director of Motiv-8 SW said, “We are firm believers in our motto that every Individual matters and hence we are extremely passionate about increasing every individual’s chances of progressing to employment and contributing to their local communities.”
