Local MP Sheryll Murray joined local members of the Looe Rifle and Pistol Club at their home in the Polean Industrial Estate to try her hand at their sport on Friday. During her visit Sheryll tried some of the many weapons owned by members of the club including air pistols, an air rifle, a semi automatic weapon, rifles and a couple of black powder pistols.
The club has a variety of ages and offers a range of facilities to any prospective shooter. The range is 25m and indoors although they do use outdoor ranges on occasions. The Club trains those who have never shot a gun, right up to competition level. There are four shooting bays at the club.
Following her visit Sheryll said, “I would like to thank the members of this club for their very warm welcome. The Club is steeped in history with one member I met having shot there for over 50 years. The club also has a strong connection with our armed services with them still using the club today to train when on leave. I would encourage people to get in touch with the club if they are interested in learning more about the sport.”
