Local MP Sheryll Murray and Liskeard North Conservative Candidate Thusha Balalojanan were horrified by the condition of the footways around Culverland Park and Wrey Avenue. Whilst out meeting local residents in the run up to the local elections they found footpaths badly overgrown and litter everywhere.
In a statement Thusha said, "This level of cleanliness is clearly unacceptable. I want to work on the council to make significant improvements in this area."
Sheryll added, "This level of rubbish is a real health hazard which has the real danger of attracting vermin such as rats to the area. I see it as an absolute priority that the council acts to clean the estate up and I feel sure that Thusha is the right person to represent this area to make sure things get done. It is obvious that this area needs a more active councillor who will make this happen."
