It was a double celebration at Torpoint Club this weekend with the opening of their newly refurbished snooker room and them celebrating their centenary.
Sheryll was please to join the Mayor and club member Mike Pearn and the Club Chairman John Crago at the celebrations.
A number of members of the Club tried out the newly refurbished room with professional snooker player Andy Hicks. Andy, whose highest rating is 17th in the world, is nicknamed ‘the cream of Devon’.
Following the event Sheryll said, “It was a fantastic night and the Club was really crowded. This Club really has gone from strength to strength and the fact that it is now 100 years old and still so vibrant today really does stand testament to the skill and hard work of the staff and officers over the many years.
“It was nice to meet Andy Hicks. It was interesting to see someone of his ability playing and not just on the TV. I have been a Member of the Torpoint Conservative Club for many years and I certainly would recommend anyone thinking of joining to do so.”
