Dead remembered in run up to Holocaust Memorial Day

Sheryll Murray was pleased to sign the Book of Commitment to mark the Holocaust Memorial Day in the Houses of Parliament today.

The Holocaust Educational Trust, who organised the Book of Commitment, was formed in 1988 to raise awareness and understanding in the wider public of the Holocaust which took place across Europe during World War Two killing over six million Jews.

Sheryll explained, “Having visited Auschwitz with school children from South East Cornwall, I fully believe that we must never forget the atrocities of the Holocaust and am determined that this must never happen again.”

Holocaust Memorial Day will take place on 27th January. This year the HET are encouraging people to “take a step”; lighting candles, sharing stories or making a pledge for Holocaust Memorial Day.
