Marine economy importance stressed during visit

Local South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to visit the Plymouth Marine Laboratory and to meet with Chief Executive Prof Steve de Mora, Director of Science Prof Manuel Barange and Head of Science Dr Melanie Austen.  Following her meeting she took a tour of the campus and was shown how computer modelling is undertaken, about research into small creatures and how tanks are used to recreate certain conditions.

Conservatives say it is 'wrong' to increase Council tax

The Conservative Group on Cornwall Council believes it is wrong to be increasing Council Tax for hard pressed Cornish households. As a result we have tabled an amendment to the Budget for 2013/14 that will allow the Council to freeze Council Tax for the coming year.

At the weekend local MP Sheryll Murray was please to officially open two new businesses on the Beeching Park industrial park in Kelly Bray. Sheryll opened the Callington MOT & Service Centre as well as the new local shop.

Sheryll Murray MP welcomes 'winter quarters' for local producers

Local MP Sheryll Murray MP was pleased to attend the official opening of the new winter quarters of the local produce market in the Kernow Mill car park at Trerulefoot. The project received a £3,000 taxpayer funded grant towards a marquee to help local producers have somewhere to sell their goods.

Sheryll Murray MP thanked her local Cornwall Councillor, George Trubody, as he stood down from the Council.  In a statement she said, "I would like to thank George for all his hard work, especially in the Rame Peninsula, during his time in office. George has worked particularly hard getting to grips with the many flood related issues across the area. He also took a lead in localism and has played an integral part in one of the pilot Neighbourhood plans in Cornwall."

Sheryll Murray MP remembers the Holocaust

Sheryll Murray has signed a Book of Commitment in the House of Commons, in doing so pledging her commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and honouring those who died during the Holocaust.
