New Foodbank welcomed for Liskeard

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray visited the new Foodbank in Liskeard in Barras Place in Liskeard and welcomed the new facility.  In a statement she said, “I was delighted to visit the new Liskeard & Looe Food bank in their new premises and would like to give a personal thanks to all the volunteers who give their time and effort freely to ensure people of South East Cornwall are helped in these tough economic times.

Looe food festival great success

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to again attend the Looe Food Festival in the Millpool car park.

Call for more support for our native Cornish Bees

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray met with local beekeepers to listen to their concerns about the amount of funding available for research into ensuring the success of the Black Bee which is the one native to the South West.  Many bees are imported and then mate with other types of bee diluting the genetics of the traditional local bee.

Carnival success - despite the weather

On Saturday local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to join many local people at the St Cleer carnival.  The weather certainly didn't dampen the spirits of those who took part in the annual event.

Congratulations to Liskeard Girls Football Club

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to congratulate the yet again successful Liskeard Girls Football Club at their Annual Dinner held at the China Fleet Club in Saltash.  Sheryll became the Club President last year.

MP backs local farmers in badger debate

South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray, having been contacted by many local farmers, spoke up for them in the House of Commons during an opposition debate on the pilot badger cull. In her speech she mentioned the words of farmers and those from the countryside who now the devastating affect of the Bovine TB virus.

MP encourages people to 'Go Canoeing'

Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to attend on of the Go Canoeing days on Sunday 2nd June with the Tamat Canoe Association in Saltash. Organised in conjunction with Canoe England, the objective of Go Canoe days is to provide free Canoe/kayak taster sessions to the public. Two Sessions were run on the day.

Crowds flock to Festival by the Sea

Sheryll was pleased to see a busy car park at Mill Pool and many people in Looe for the popular Festival by the Sea.  During her visit Sheryll visited and sampled much of the local produce on offer.
