MP Urges Small Businesses to go Contactless

 Local MP Sheryll Murray met with Barclays Bank on a walk through Looe visiting small business owners highlighting how important contactless payment is as more and more people are using it.

MP Celebrates National Libraries Day in Looe

 Local MP Sheryll Murray, who is the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Libraries Minister Ed Vaizey, went to Looe Library today to hold one of her regular Advice surgeries.  As well as holding her surgery Sheryll joined staff and volunteers to celebrate National Libraries Day.

 Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was pleased to join Ernest Burdett, a 103 year old D-Day veteran from Torpoint, as the French Consol Alain Sibiril presented him with the Légion d’honneur on Thursday.

Holocaust Remembered

 Yesterday Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment, in doing so pledging her commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.

Responsible Fishing Scheme Campaign Launched

 Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was pleased to host the launching of the National Seafish campaign to get people to sign up to the new Responsible Fishing Scheme on Tuesday.

Church celebrates 125 years

 Sheryll Murray, MP for South East Cornwall, was pleased to join Bishop Tim Thornton from Truro at Saint Saviour Church, Polruan at a service to celebrate the Church’s 125th year on Sunday.

Discussions on moving disposal site continue

Sheryll Murray, MP had a telephone conversation with John Tuckett, CEO of the Marine Management Organisation on 22 December 2015 to discuss the licence applications for the dredging to take place at Devonport Dockyard  and the Cattewater Harbour, Plymouth with disposal of spoil at the Rame Head site.

Extra tourism money welcomed

Local MP Sheryll Murray has welcomed the news that in addition to protecting funding in cash terms for VisitEngland and VisitBritain, the Chancellor has announced that there will be an extra £40 million to help visitors 'Discover England'. Furthermore, the GREAT campaign will continue, with an increase in funding to £60 million a year. 

MP Royal Mail Delivery Office tour to say thank you.

 Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to tour Saltash and Torpoint Royal Mail delivery offices on Friday and Callington and Looe Royal Mail delivery offices on Saturday.  She plans to visit Liskeard this Friday.

Dance with Jodie show a great success

Local MP Sheryll Murray was a guest at the Annual Winter Show of the Dance with Jodie school at Looe Bay Holiday Park on Saturday.
